What is a good hands-on charity?

What is a good hands-on charity?
Basically, the holidays are coming up and I wanted to volunteer for a charity.
.
I want something hands-on, where I can see or interact with the people I am helping. I am not interested in donating cash or items anonymously. I want to see the person I am helping.
Either a soup kitchen or giving christmas gifts would be perfect.
.
The one problem I have is that I am only free on weekends.
.
I tried several websites, such as volunteermatch, but haven’t had much luck.
I tried meals on wheels, but they seem to only deliver during lunch hours M-F.
.
If anyone has any ideas I am willing to listen. Thanks.

Habitat for Humanity and The Fuller Center for Housing both build houses *with* families in need. The homeowners work on the houses, especially on Saturdays since that’s generally when they’re not at their usual jobs either.
