Some Good News About Fish Oil 1000mg Soft Gel Capsules

Fish oil 1000 mg capsules can be purchase at most places that have an area dedicated to vitamins and supplements, with many of these same brands of fish oil 1000 mg capsules being sold online as well. And no matter where you choose to buy your fish oil 1000 mg capsules you will probably find them to be affordable, ranging from to for a 2 or 3 month supply.

But even now there seems to be a great deal of confusion over whether supplemental oils derived from fish are actually worth spending hard earned money to purchase. And of course there is also that stigma of taste and aftertaste which has stuck with any type of fish supplement over time, including encapsulated oils.

I have seen this first hand with close friends and family members who refuse to add these types of products to their daily routine. They simply can’t believe that the new type of soft gel encapsulation processes are able to virtually eliminate the dreadful taste and aftertaste.

There also seems to be quite a bit of pushback when it comes to natural products for help with serious medical problems such as cardiovascular disease, depression, rheumatoid arthritis, cancer, incurable skin conditions, and the many mental health concerns linked to development and aging.

Despite the growing mountain of research supporting taking 2 or more fish oil 1000 mg daily to help treat and prevent all the above condition there will always be those who would rather take a handful of prescription medications fraught with side effect risks.

This not a knock on prescription medications or for that matter about compassionate competent doctors but more a statement about the general mindset of some people.

The two most often mentioned are docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), more commonly referred to as omega 3 fatty acids. DHA is produced in insignificant amounts by our bodies and is part of our makeup on a cellular level. But for the most part we are reliant on diet and supplementation to provide our bodies with enough DHA/EPA to make a difference in overall health and wellness.

Talking with your doctor about dosage is a course of action worth considering because much will depend on your current medications along with what condition you are trying to treat. Nevertheless, I have provided some general information about fish oil 1000 mg soft gel dosage.

There is little clarity as to what is the best dosage and it varies greatly from condition to condition. The label of most fish oil 1000 mg bottles calls for 2 tablets daily. This will generally provide about 600 mg of DHA/EPA if the source is anchovies and/or sardines. If the source is hoki and/or blue fin tuna 2 capsules will deliver around 1000 mg of DHA/EPA.

The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends from 700 to 950 mg of DHA ( generally 2 or 3 soft gels daily) for those with coronary artery disease, and a slightly higher dosage for those trying to reduce high cholesterol.

As far as joint conditions go the AHA didn’t have much to say about this but a recent study found that taking 4 standard soft gel tablets daily were as effective in relieving pain and inflammation as the over the counter non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (ibuprofen, naproxen).
