How much vitamin B supplement should I take and will it help?

Question by KC25: How much vitamin B supplement should I take and will it help?
I am already taking a daily vitamin but I heard taking vitamin B can help reduce the risk for mosquito bites and help boost energy. The last time I tried vitamin B I took a B complex vitamin and it just made my heart race.

there are many B vitamins, and taking the ones you don’t need will result in unpleasant side effects as you have found. If energy is your goal, B-12 500mg lozenges should help. (do not take pills as B-12 is destroyed in stomach acids) get melt in your mouth lozenges. The B-12 is then absorbed directly into the blood through your oral mucous membranes.
as for mosquitoes, none of the B vitamins will keep those pests away. Brewer’s yeast sometimes works as do garlic tabs…but frankly, I have found that just putting a fabric softener sheet in my pocket is as effective as anything else.
