Many of us are looking for paying work we can do from home. But, when we hear someone talk about free work from home, that phrase is often misleading. Free work from home somehow sounds like were willing to work for free, if we can just workout of our home. However, that simply does not jibe, for to work free from home does not imply that we wont earn income from that work.
The actual intent of that phrase, free work from home, is more than likely the desire to be freed up from working outside the home. We know when we do free work from home, we avoid many expenses involved with working outside our home; engaging in free work from home releases us from costs of transportation, business attire, and lunches out, to name an obvious few. Doing free work from home certainly relieves us of that burden. So, choosing free work from home does make sense.
We understand that free work from home is not really free, for there are always daily expenses, no matter the location of our work. When we perform free work from home, we still eat, wear clothing, and consume water and utilities. Unlike doing free work from home, when we perform work on the employers premises, he must at the very least provide us with electricity and space to do our jobs.
Doing free work from home can at times really be free. At the crux of this matter is how the expenses of our free work from home are allocated. For instance, we each must eat in order to have the strength to produce that free work from home. But the cost of our preparing meals at home while doing free work from home is not considered work-related; whereas, eating lunch we order from a downtown diner often is. Also, when we do free work from home, we are not costing our employer additional overhead. Yes, while were performing free work from home, our employer still must pay his bills. But, his cost of doing business is solely his not ours – when we do free work from home.
Daily living expenses are continuous – even when we are doing free work from home. Free work from home doesnt free us from feeding ourselves, using bathroom facilities, and paying our rent. Whether we do free work from home or work outside it, costs of daily living go on.
Free work from home could best be defined as our opportunity to work unencumbered by costs generally associated with wearing clothing appropriate for the job, transportation to the employers place of work, and even paying for our childs daycare while were away. When we do free work from home, we can eliminate those work-related costs. Once we choose free work from home and self-impose the discipline needed to maintain a viable routine, we can manage both free work from home and the care of our child simultaneously. Yes, free work from home can be attractive and liberating. With some simple planning, free work from home is quite doable.
Its easy to see that nothing is free, but the choice to do free work from home is void of many employee costs related to traditional employment. Free work from home is a tantalizing concept. It does not free us from the financial responsibilities of sustaining ourselves, but free work from home can be terribly freeing!
