We eat food to live. Food gives us energy and strength to work and play. Good food protects us from illness and diseases and helps to keep us healthy.

There are many kinds of food. Different foods help us in different ways. Some helps us to grow, they build up our bones and muscles; some foods give us energy which we use to work and play while some foods keep us healthy, and protects us from diseases.

We should eat some food of each kind every day. It will protect our body and make us grow healthy and strong. We must also drink plenty.

Let us see different kinds of food and the role played by them in helping us grow, stay healthy and remain protected.

Carrot is very strong. It is full of vitamins, especially vitamin A. it must from a part of your diet. The more you eat it the better your eyesight is going to be!

Well, just look at the cabbage. She certainly looks very sad! She seems to be unhappy because she says little children are not fond of her and all her veggie friends. But do you know how helpful her veggie friends are? Green vegetables help you process your food and clean up your little tummy so you will never complain of a stomach ache!

It is lady’s finger. It is one of the green vegetables. If you eat lots of green vegetables you will always remain wealthy.

It is a little pear and it’s full of vitamin C.

if eat it regularly, you will be safe from a running nose! Next time you catch a cold you can be sure you did have enough vitamin C.

Minerals like calcium are required to build your bones and you will get plenty of it from milk and cheese.

Proteins which help you to grow come from meat, fish, nuts, vegetables etc.

Sugar and starchy food fills you up and supply you the energy that you constantly need. This starch comes from rice and other food grains.

Some amount of fat is also required to give you energy. This comes from butter and ghee.

The right combination of all these food will definitely make you strong and healthy.

Avoid eating oily and spicy food from outside. If you do, you will become more prone to diseases.

Say no to sweets. For better digestion, the best remedy is to speak less while eating and chew your food slowly and properly.

Enrich your diet with green vegetables, pulses and sprouts.

For healthy, glowing skin, drink plenty of water.

Participate in sports like cricket, football or any other game that you like. It is the best exercise.
