Businesses that make money are nothing special. Lots of businesses make money. Building businesses that offers their owners the freedom to travel and live the life style they want is another subject all together. First steps first… getting your business to make money so you can get to the next step of freedom. So many people get the first step make money and never achieve the second part freedom. So here is the 6 things businesses that make money have in common which will reward the owners with the second part freedom if they take the right steps.

1. People want to buy from them. It’s a lot easier to sell something if people want to buy it and especially if they want to buy from you. There are countless books on the subject of why people want to buy from you one of the strongest is simple. If they like you they are going to buy from you. Businesses that make money people like.

2. Businesses that make money are easy to buy from. The easier it is for you to buy from a business the more your going to buy. I’ve seen so many websites and online stores that have a product or service I want and I cannot figure out how to buy it guess what you lost the sale. So make it easy to buy from you.

3. Businesses that make money are different. When you walk into a shop or visit a website there is a feeling you get that this one is different. Being unique doesn’t mean that you are completely different from your competition. It can be a few subtle small things that together make a big difference.

4. Businesses that make money do what they do. What this means is that there are lots of fads. You can make a lot of money in a fad and you can also get stuck holding the bag in a fad. Businesses that make money aren’t going to jump on a new marketing system or ad campaign because it’s the in thing to do.  If the business does it, it’s because they have systems and controls in place that structure them taking place in the fad or hot new sizzle of the week. Which brings us to #5

5. Businesses that make money have systems. Systems are one of the most critical aspects of any business. You can rest assured that the more effective the business systems are the more money the business will be making. Systems create consistency when you figure out how to sell more, reduce waste, hire great talent and perform a new service they all must be turned into systems. So you can consistently get the same result.

6. Businesses that make money have great leadership. If you’re the owner of the business your 100% responsible for every thing the business does. I’ll say that again because it’s so critical as a business owner you are 100% responsible for the business. No one excuses period. If there is something you don’t like in your business there is no one to point fingers at you need to change it.
