Welcome to Our Personal Development Website

Hello, My name is Philip Harman and I would like to personally welcome you to my personal collection of personal development resources. I reside in the small town of Loveland Colorado, just minutes away up through Big Thompson Canyon to the beautiful rocky mountains. A fantastic place to visit for those of you who like the great out doors with breathtaking views, lots of wildlife and our incredible mountains with their own personal history of many years of development to becoming the western gift of beauty that it is for us to enjoy.

Our Mission

As I am developing my plan for this website and what I would like to accomplish in its development. I have run across a quote that fits very well " I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good I can do, or any kindness that I can show, let me do now, for I shall not pass this way again." With that being said, I hope to provide the visitors of this website with some information that could possibly make a change in their life.

Some Personal Development History

Samuel Smiles (1812-1904) published the first self-consciously personal-development "self-help" book — entitled Self-Help — in 1859. Its opening sentence: "Heaven helps those who help themselves", provides a variation of "God helps them that help themselves", the oft-quoted maxim that also appeared previously in Benjamin Franklin's Poor Richard's Almanac (1733 - 1758). Alcoholics Anonymous was started by two alcoholics, Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob Smith who first met on May 12, 1935. The twelve-step program grew from this to become perhaps the world's most popular basis of self-help care. [citation needed]
